TRANSFORMERS AND DRIVERS

Unlike incandescent or fluorescent bulbs, LED bulbs are not directly plugged to the mains supply, they need a LED driver. Drivers transform the mains supply tension, adapting it to the LED lighting. LEDs work on a direct current. If they are to work on an alternating current, they need a driver power supply. It is important to make sure that the drivers are of the best quality in order to guarantee that the LEDswork correctly.
There are two types of LED lighting: high-voltage and low-voltage. High-voltage LEDs are plugged to the mains supply and do not require LED transformers, while low-voltage LEDs need a transformer before they are plugged to the mains supply and start working. The diodes on LED bulbs need to have their tension regulated if they are to have a long life.
